THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: It is not just Home and Tourism Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, but his Cabinet colleague and Health Minister P.K.

Sreemathi also is in trouble with the nexus between her son with Total4U cheating case accused, R Sabarinath, re-surfacing.

Remani, an accused in the case, who had earlier revealed before the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) Court the connections between Kodiyeri’s son Binish Kodiyeri and Sabarinath, on Friday disclosed the connection between the Health Minister’s son Sudhir Nambiar and Sabarinath.

Giving her statement before the Court in a complaint filed against Sabarinath, Remani said that Sabarinath had told her about his plans to start business ventures, including hiring of vehicles to the Tourism Department and setting up a resort, in association with Binish and Sudhir.

She also alleged that a woman had contacted her over telephone demanding Rs 2 crore to exclude her from the case. The caller had also said that the money has to be contributed to the CPM.

She said that though she had stated this to the Crime Branch, they had not inquired into it.

Pleading innocence, Remani said that she was falsely implicated in the case using fabricated documents. She also alleged serious lapses on the part of the Crime Branch team in investigating the case. The case had been posted for further hearing on February 16.

Home Minister clarifies The Home Minister has clarified that the Tourism Department had not entrusted any private agency to supply vehicles.

In case additional vehicles were required, the Department used to arrange it through the Regional Transport Officer, said the clarification issued by the Minister’s office to a report appeared in these columns quoting the complaint given by Dr Remani at the ACJM court.

However, it may be recalled that Remani had only mentioned Sabarinath’s plans to start the travel business in association with the Ministers’ sons.
