Palakkad: Nair Service Society (NSS) general secretary PK Narayana Panikkar said that his organisation would like to see the CPI(M) quitting the Dewaswom portfolio. Participating in a programme organised by the organisation here on Wednesday, Panikkar said that the NSS would legally oppose the Government’s decision on recruitment to Dewaswom boards through the Public Service Commission.

He said the NSS would also move court and use all possible methods to thwart the Government move.

The NSS general secretary said that representatives of the organisation including himself had met State Governor RL Bhatia on the issue and had apprised him of the dangers involved in the Dewaswom Bill. Asked for his comments on the statements of Dewaswom Minister G Sudhakaran against the NSS, he said that the NSS would not comment on such things.

Panickar said that there was nothing much to comment on the performance of the LDF Government, adding that the Government had not done much for the people of the State.

The NSS supreme leader was in Palakkad to attend a programme of Dhanasree, the microfinance project of the organisation.
