Hindu Spiritual leaders to oppose Government move

Kochi
: Any move from the side of Communist Government to bring control over Ashrams will be opposed, Warned Spiritual leaders after conducting meeting with Hindu organisations and spiritual ashrams across the state.

It is highly deplorable on the part of the government to attack all ashrams and Sanyasis in the pretext of enquiry against fraudsters,  said  the meeting of Sanyasis held at Kochi. All Sanyasis are not fakes and criminals. As per the newspaper reports all the fraudsters booked recently had political support, Sanyasis said.

It is not right for Sanyasis to amass wealth but they cannot do away with food ,clothing and shelter. The proposed law by the Kerala government to monitor all the activities of the Sanyasis is an attack on the Religion and Religious freedom ,said Swami Garuda Dwajananda Theertha of the Vazhoor Theerthapadashramum..No Sanyasi has ever asked not to enquire about their sources of income  and if any sanyasi found guilty government can arrest them ,Swami added.

A joint meeting of the heads of various Mutts has said that the Government proposal for legislation intended at controlling the functions of Sanyasis is in violation of religious freedom.

The Government move was part of a conspiracy against the Mutts and Hindu Sanyasis, the meeting opined here on Saturday. Heads of various Mutts like Kerala Chinmaya Mission, Amrtianandamayi Mutt, Sreeramakrishna Ashram, Teerthapada Ashram and Sathigiri participated in the meeting. However, the Sanyasis said that they would support the move against fake swamis.

They said that it was unjust to blame all the Sanyasis for the wrong actions of a few. “Not all Swamis are frauds. Let the police search out the fake ones. Media reports say that the fraudulent swamis had support from the higher-ups,” a Sanyasi pointed out.

Swami Garudadhwajananda Theerthapadar, Swami Vivijnananda Saraswathi, Swami Gangeshananda Theertha Padar, Swami Jnana Amrithananandapuri, Swami athma Swaroopananda and Swami Mangalananda Saraswathi represented various ashrams

If few frauds misused the garb of Sanyasis- Why the government is in a war path against all Sanyasis and Ashrams? It is the responsibility of Government to bring the criminals infront of law, There shouldn’t be any religious discrimination against such government move to counter frauds.

Youth wing of the ruling party attacked Vinu Swami of Cheemeni who took Brahmacharya Dheeksha without any reason. Hindu Soceity will not take such attacks against genuine swami’s. No one has given DYFI the role to take law in their hands, A Judiciary and Police is in this state to make sure law is prevailed in the state. The attacks against innocent Swami’s will take the state into anarchy.
