TP
Nandakumar, editor of Crime Magazine, whose PIL in the Kerala High
Court had served as the basis for the CBI probe into the multi-crore
SNC Lavalin corruption scandal involving top Marxist Pinarayi Vijayan,
on Monday asked the CBI to question CPI(M) general secretary Prakash
Karat with regard to the case. Nandakumar said here that he would
formally request the CBI to question Karat.

“Karat had admitted
that the agreement with SNC Lavalin, which led to corruption to the
tune of crore of rupees, was signed with the permission of party
leadership.
Karat did not respond to several letters from me which even
stated that the important evidences regarding the case were given
(former Polit Bureau member) EK Balanandan,” he said.

The
Congress and the BJP had already alleged that the CPI(M) top
leadership, including the PB, had knowledge about the corrupt practices
involved in the SNC Lavalin deal.
