The Eminent Historian, Mr M Gangadharan has said that the communist philosophy did not suit “our tradition and culture”.

Releasing the book “Swathanthriyamkondu Namenthu Nedi” (What did we achieve with Freedom) authored by the reputed Artist, M V Devan, at the Kozhikode Press Club, Mr Gangadharan said that even after ruling the state for several decades the Communist party could not bring in any social change. In fact, EMS was led by a false illusion that the social system in Kerala could be changed.

After making individuals as the party’s servants, even amongst them the Communism could not bring in any social reforms, he said. In fact, even the Communist Women are not being given their deserving representation in the organisation. He alleged that there were no Communist leaders to lead the Punnapra- Vayalar agitation. The party’s history is of isolating or ostracising those who do not surrender or question it, he said.
