To
Chief Election Commissioner and Election Commissioners

Dear Sirs,

We wish to bring to your notice the rampant corrupt electoral practices of the ruling UDF alliance in the Assembly Election in Kerala.

Money, bribes in cash & kind and several other influences have been blatantly used by UDF Alliance during the campaigning of the Elections. We have brought this to the notice of the local observers and other Electoral officials at the state level.
As a complete vindication of our fears and concerns, we bring to the commission the incontrovertible evidence of how UDF Alliance has over time pushed in big sums of money in a bid to influence the Assembly Elections in Kerala. We are certain that Commission would have received similar feedback from its own observers and electoral officials in Kerala.

The enclosed video clearly shows Shri CP Mohammed, a UDF [Congress] candidate from Pattambi AC [50] in Palakkad district passing on money in exchange of votes at the elector’s house. This one brief video, is not an isolated case of bribery, it amply represents the way the UDF candidates have attempted to cheat on the people of Kerala and also the Constitution of India that enables them to participate in the electoral processes.

We also have information from our BJP candidates in Karaikal district in Puducherry have caught red handed, the Congress party functionaries distributing cash for votes and a complaint has been filed with the District Election Officer at Karaikal.
In view of the foregoing we request that:

We request the commission to proceed against the UDF and its candidate for violation of the provisions of section 123A of Representation of The People Act 1951 read together with Model Code of Conduct that prohibits bribery of any kind and also take immediate and exemplary action against the UDF Alliance and the candidate Shri CP Mohammed by countermanding the election in Pattambi [50] and disqualifying the candidate.
The Election Commission may also consider taking strict, exemplary and prompt action in case of money distribution in Karaikal either by countermanding the poll as it has done in case of Thanjavur district in Tamil Nadu and also disqualify the delinquent candidates.
Such prompt and exemplary action by the Election Commission would ensure free & fair elections not only in Kerala but also in the neighboring states.

Thanking you

Yours faithfully,

JP Nadda
