CPM leader found dead

THALASSERY: The body of a local leader of the CPM, who was also one of the accused in a case of attempted murder, was found hanging from a tree near his house at Moozhikkara here on Friday.
Meruvambayi Chandrasekharan, 52, who was found dead on Friday, was the Moozhikkara Branch Secretary of the CPM. He was one of the accused in a police case for attempting to murder Moozhikkara booth president of the BJP.
Chandrasekharan had told his relatives that he would surrender before the court on Friday. He was suspected to have committed suicide due to the mental stress following the filing of the case against him, according to local people.
