Upanishad Ganga – a tele serial with a difference

In line with Pujya Gurudev H.H. Swami Chinmayanandaji’s vision of spreading the knowledge of the Upanishads to the masses, Chinmaya Mission has come up with its ‘First of its kind” TV serial – ‘Upanishad Ganga’.  This ‘ancient yet modern knowledge’, which is totally relevant for our times is told through interesting stories and is sure to enthral the entire family.

This serial is soon to be aired in DD-1 beginning end January 2012 or early February 2012.  

The Upanishad Ganga is a TV serial of 52 episodes depicting the story of YOU & ME; it is NOT about any historical or mythological character. In each one of us there is SOMEONE who is constantly struggling to:

The Upanishads known as Vedanta, guides this enquiring individual to Enlightenment and fulfillment in life. Through this serial the entire Vedic culture will also be presented. There will be a continuous concept or thought development through various stories from the Upanishads, Puranas or history.

The global Chinmaya Mission founded by H. H. Swami Chinmayananda is the producer of this serial and Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi is the Creative Director. Script writers include Dr. Dwivedi, Shri Atul Tiwari and Mr. Farid. The Executive Producer is Wisdomtree Productions.

Some of the actors in the serial are Mukesh Tiwari, Abhimanyu Singh, Zakir Hussain, Ila Arun, KK Raina, Vrijesh Hirjee, Mona Ambegaonkar, Jaya Bhattacharya, Vishwa Vadola, Sai Deodhar and Amit Behl. The Art Director is Nitin Desai (won four national awards for his works), art & costume designer is Muneesh Sappel and there are some renowned singers like Asit Desai and Shekhar Sen.
