Torture of Hindu Girl, Case Registered against Jihadi Romeo

Kozhikode: A case has been registered against Mukkom native Ahmed Nabeel for forcibly trying to convert a Hindu girl to Islam. Reports state that the Jihadi romeo professed his love for the girl, a student and enticed her into marriage, following which he subject her to various forms of physical tortures. The Hindu victim, who had eloped from her home, was taken to Satyasarini, the Islaimc conversiuon centre where she was subject to further tortures. Case has been charged under sections 498A, 295A, 323, 342. The incident has taken place exactly at a time when Satyasarini has been placed under Intelligence scanner after having faced allegations of rampant religious conversions and recruitment to the dreaded ISIS.

Jihadi Nabeel began his wooing drama during college days. Following stiff opposition from her parents, the victim eloped with the Jihadi, on 19 October 2016 However, things took an ugly turn when Nabeel and his family began torturing the girl, when she refused to convert to Islam. “The girl was forced to follow Islamic cultural observances. Her mobile and SIM were confiscated, along with directives that she cannot be in contact with her family members. Following this, she was taken to Satyasarini under the pretext of getting her passport ready,” said sources.

Sources further state that the girl was under severe torture in Satyasarini, without being given proper food or medicines, when she fell ill. Meanwhile it was also found that the Jihadi Romeo who enticed her had moved to Kondotty, Malappuram. Unable to bear the torture any further, she managed to contact her parents with the help a third person, who informed police. She was rescued thereafter.
