Speed up acquisition for land for Guruvayoor temple development : HAV

via Guruvayoor published on October 31, 2005

The Hindu Aikya Vedi State General Secretary Mr Kummanam Rajasekharan has  urged the Guruvayoor Devaswom authorities to acquire the land required for the development of the Sree Krishna Temple here without further loss of time.

Despite the directives of the Supreme Court and the Kerala High Court in 2003 on this issue, the Kerala government and the Managing Committee have so far taken a contemptible attitude, he alleged. This resulted in the Devaswom losing around Rs two crores towards interest and court expenses, which, he said, should be recovered from the Guruvayoor Devaswom administrators.

Refusing to provide the devotees the basic infrastructure and essential services is nothing but violation of human rights and citizen’s rights, he claimed.
