Setback to business interests of CPM

via HK published on July 15, 2010

In a biggest set back to capitalist dreams of CPM to make money by looting and destroying nature, the Ministry of environment and forests has ordered to stop all the activities of  Pappinissery Mangrove theme park (Kandal Park), as it is found to be destroying the eco system in the area.

The CPM lead society has constructed this Theme Park without minding the destruction of the eco system and were planning to bring this as a big tourism/business centre with  shops, observation points and floating restaurants etc.

Repeated protests by environmentalists against this construction were crushed by the CPM goons. The new aged Marxists party with all business interests have shown their real face in many places like Coca Cola agitation, Kinaloor industrial estate issues etc. The party is
all behind money, and do not want to be with common man and the issues of the common man.

The so called common man party society has invested more than a Crore rupees so far for this tourism business centre at Pappinissery. Adding this to 35 Crore they spent on building Vismaya amusement park at Parassinikkadavu, people like you and me should really think, is this party capitalistic or not. This party talks only about crores and millions nowadays.

According to the ministry order, the project area falls within the Coastal Regulation Zone-1 which is an ‘ecologically sensitive area’. The chairman of the Kerala State Coastal Zone Management Authority was directed to visit the project site, along with officials of Kerala
forest department and the Centre for Earth Science Studies to ‘assess the damage/destruction carried out in the area’.

The ministry has sought their report within 15 days.
