Second phase of relief activity in Chennai Floods by RSS

During the second phase of relief activity, swayamsevaks engaged themselves in relief and rescue operations at various places of Chennai. Thousands of houses marooned and the communication has come to a standstill. In around 75 places, relief work is being carried on. Some of the relief inputs hereunder:
In  Anna Nagar area around 5000 food packets had been distributed
In Redhills, around 250 Narikuravas (tribals) are taken care of and food packets were distributed.
In In B V Colony, Bajrang Dal (a unit of VHP) had served food packets to 300 families.In Perambur, breakfast, lunch and dinner are served continuously to 15 affected areas around Perambur.  12500 chappathis were distributed yesterday night.In Kolathur, around 5000 food packets were distributed.
In Triplicane, food was prepared and distributed to around 2000 people.
In Nesapakkam, around 600 food packets were distributed.

In Otteri, food packets were distributed.
In Egmore Railway Station, tea was served by swayamsevaks to the outstation passengers who are stranded/struck there.In Thiruneermalai, food packets were distributed.

Swayamsevaks in co-ordination with NDRF and Armed personnel, are helping in rescue operations in Mudhichur, Mannivakkam. 2000 Food packets, nilavembu kashayam, counselling to public was rendered to nearby 8 villages of Chromepet.

Relief material and help from vellore district to chennai:

15 volunteers, including one lady, from RSS and Seva Bharathi of Vellore District left for Chennai with some relief material (the much wanted and scarce vegetables, rice, biscuits and bread, candles, match boxes and mosquito coils) for relief work.
