Remembering The Great Naval Emperor – Rajendra Chola

Great Naval Emperor – who ruled up to Cambodia one thousand years before , Rajendra Cholan’s portrait unveiled by Tamilnadu Governor Dr Vidya Sagar Rao and CM Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis- dedicated to Mazgon Docks with Tarun Vijay’s efforts

29th September 2016- It was a great day of celebrating India’s military power and striking capabilities by instituting greatest naval Emperor Rajendra’s Chola’s portrait at Mazgon Docks Shipbuilders, the Indian navy’s power centre at Mumbai by the Governor of Maharashtra and Tamilnadu Dr Vidyasagar Rao and Chief Minister of Maharashtra Mr Devendra Fadnavis. The portrait was given to the Chairman of Mazgon Docks Rear Admiral ( retd) Rahul Kumar Shrawat. Defence Minister Shri Manohar Parrikar   sent a special message of congratulations praising the greatness of Rajendra Chola. The Cholan portrait will be soon presented to Defence Minister inn delhi also for his office in South Block- that will also be the first post independence .

The programme began with Tarun Vijay congratulating and saluting the armed forces who successfully made  surgical military operation in PoK to kill the terrorists and smash their camps . There was a unique solidarity and the atmosphere was electrified with congratulations to Prime Minister Modi and armed forces amidst Bharat Mata Ki Jai slogans.

Tarun Vijay said that its a day of celebrating India’s victorious power as we have taken revenge against Pakistani terrorists  by striking at their hide outs in PoK . A great coincidence  that  the military might of Rajendra Chola is  being honoured in Maharashtra on the day India  has shown to the world its superior military and strategic prowess.

The vice chancellor of Mumbai University Prof Sanjay Deshmukh spoke highly of Rajendra Chola and recited a Tamil poem in praise of the Emperor Chola. he said that india is proud of its two great maritime heroes- Rajendra Chola and Shivaji.

Governor Dr Vidya Sagar Rao was highly appreciative of Tarun Vijay’s relentless campaign to bring Tamil glorious icons to the other parts of the nation and said that its time to strengthen India’s naval power taking inspiration from Rajendra Chola’s great naval power one thousand years before. He said that its time to increase our maritime power and Chola stands out as the great icon of our naval strength. He informed the audience consisted of senior IAS officers, navy and coast guard top bras and general tamil people from Mumbai  about the highly sophisticated naval might of the Cholas.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that India was always a maritime power but there was a time when we neglected it and it was resulted in the 2008 attack on Mumbai that happened through sea route only. hence it is very important to revive the memories of the great naval empire of the Cholas to make our naval power into a  maritime super power once again.   He said that Shivaji had understood the importance of it,

The national coordinator of Students and Youth for Thiruvalluvar Dr Ram Subramanian specially flew to Mumbai from Coimbatore to participate in this epoch making event.

The lone Tamil MLA of Maharastra Capt Selvan, President of Mumbai Tamil Sangam Mr Kannan and a huge number of academics also attended the function.
