Religous Discrimination in Communist Party

via HK published on June 24, 2008

Kannur: It is an unwritten rule
among Communists in India
that, Comrades born in Hinduism should be Atheists but Muslim and Christian comrades
necessarily don’t have to be Atheists.

Hindu Communists are allowed
to worship god secretly but party won’t have any responsibility if some one exposes
it. If you are state level leader you may escape disciplinary action but strict
action will be taken if any local Hindu leaders show courage to worship god.

Kodiyeri Balakrishnan’s poomoodal
offering in Kadampuzha temple was covered up with much efforts but strict actions
are taken against a party branch secretary for conducting auspicious Ganapathi Homam
when he built a new Home.

In Kannur CPM.Branch
Secretary VV Mohanan is expelled from the party for allowing a religious
function to be staged (Muthappan Vellattam) in front of his house. The sword of
disciplinary action also hangs on the head of two other party members who are
seen occasionally going to temple in Kannur.

Hindu comrades asks among themselves
why no warning was given to CPM leader AP Abdullakutty and other communist leaders
from Mallapuram for conducting Haj pilgrimage? Why no disciplinary action against
their Muslim comrades who go to mosque 5 times a day with devotion?
