Juhi Chawla joins hands with Ekal Vidhyalay Foundation in Oman

MUSCAT: Ekal Vidhyalay Foundation of India held a function at the Indian Embassy auditorium under the patronage of Shri. Anil Wadhwa, ambassador of India to the Sultanate Of Oman.

Ekal Vidhyalaya Foundation (EVF) runs single teacher schools in over 34,000 far flung rural and tribal villages and hamlets of India where no schools exist.

This mission of eradicating illiteracy also imparts knowledge on health hygiene, traditional employment generation and empowerment of the villagers. The foundation targets to reach 100,000 villages by 2015.

Well-known Indian film actress, Juhi Chawla, was the guest of honour at the function.

The function was attended by many leading businessmen and top executives of the business houses.

In his opening address, Ambassador Shri. Anil Wadhwa introduced the distinguished guests and endorsed Ekal as social cause of great importance in the progress of India and its people.

Juhi Chawla made a very compassionate and convincing appeal to the people to associate with Ekal to educate the forgotten children of India.
