Jihadi moral policing strikes again in Kannur,teenager attacked.

KANNUR: In yet another case of moral police attack Mayyil police in the district have registered cases against 10 people for attacking a 19-year-old youth at Kannadiparamba under Mayyil police station limits on Monday.

Case has been registered based on a complaint filed by P V Praveesh of Kannadiparamba. The youth said that he was attacked by a group of people for taking his uncle’s daughters for shopping in connection with the marriage of his brother.

Police said Praveesh’s uncle has married a muslim woman and he along with his wife and daughters had come for the marriage of Praveesh’s brother on Sunday. When he took out the girls for shopping, a group of people blocked his way and asked him where he was taking the Muslim girls.

However, Praveesh ignored them. But when Praveesh came to the market on Monday morning they assaulted him following which he filed a complaint

In a similar case, police had registered cases against five Muslim youth for assaulting a Muslim couple, E P Naushad, a resident of Onchiyam in Kozhikode district, and his pregnant wife K P Hafsath, while they were coming after visiting a doctor at Kambil, near Mayyil, in June.

Naushad was assaulted as the attackers thought that he was a non-Muslim. Police have intensified the search to nab the accused.

Minor girls abused by madrassa teachers

Meanwhile, Mayyil police also registered case on Sunday evening against two madrassa teachers for allegedly sexually abusing a 10-year-old girl. According to police, the accused are Sahul Hameed, a native of Malappuram district and Naser of Choondayil Kora in Kannur district.

According to police the two abused the child when she came for the evening classes in the madrassa. The girl informed her parents and they filed a complaint with the police.

The accused is absconding and the investigation is on to nab them, said police.
