Do you have a laptop or computer accessories to spare? – An appeal for rural development

Agniveer is working towards setting up a computer education network in rural Bengal to bring self-employment and empowerment. We are beginning our pilot project from Kalitala village in Howrah district. The trainees would be taught in latest web and related technologies so that they can earn respectfully through local and global projects.

They will learn practical latest technologies for which there is a huge demand globally but dearth of learning options. We have identified initial trainers and training material to jumpstart the process. Then each trainee will become a trainer for others. The self-help groups will also be taught on skills to procure projects globally and locally and delivering them in professional manner. In brief, the self-help group will become a startup in itself. Bulk of the revenues of the group shall go towards setting up more such centers and scaling the operations. One part will go towards non-profit activities to promote national culture globally through internet and mobile applications. The rest shall go towards bringing smiles of dignity in lives of these families who are otherwise rendered helpless to forces of unemployment and disillusionment.

Just imagine! The very same sisters and brothers that you empower become brand ambassadors of our nation and usher in an era of prosperity. We have talked enough about corruption eating away the nation. Now let us join hands to give it the real food that builds its muscles. This is Agniveer’s answer to all that is gloomy and sad and frustrating all around.

And remember, Kalitala in rural Bengal is just a first baby step. We aspire to take this mission across length and breadth of the nation and kill poverty from very root!
