Ahmedabad: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday launched a scathing attack on the UPA government for forceful eviction of Baba Ramdev and his supporters who were on fast on the issue of black money. He described the police move as “Ravanlila performed by the Delhi police at the behest of the Congres s president Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh.”

He compared the police action with days of emergency and said this incident will mark as beginning of the end of the UPA government.

He added that the Dr Singh and Congress party will have to give an answer to the people of the country for brutal violence against innocent people, as entire country is united against corruption. He charged the Congress led government of trying to du suppress voice of the people on corruption.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was directly responsible for the midnight crackdown on Baba Ramdev and his followers in New Delhi, Modi said in his virulent attack on the Centre government.

Condemning the incident as the “worst” day in the history of India, Modi said “the PM had said during the 2009 Lok Sabha elections that he would bring back black money stashed in Swiss banks within 100 days of coming into power. But today, it is two years and nothing has happened. Inaction of the government is forcing people to launch agitation.”

“The lathi-charge on innocent people has been at your (Manmohan Singh) behest on behalf of the Delhi sultanate and not by the Sheila Dixit Government,” Modi said.

He said the lathi-charge by police while people were sleep, was “Ravanlila at Ramlila ground.”

The police first attacked people in their sleep and then took away Baba Ramdev and did not disclose where he has been taken, Modi said adding “even the US after killing (Osama Bin) Laden had revealed to the world what they had done in two hours.”
