New Delhi, March 25: The BJP today launched a scathing attack on UPA Government alleging that the ruling coalition failed to organise any programme on the occasion of 75th anniversary of Bhagat Singh’s martyrdom and it has no regard for the services of great heroes of the Independence struggle.

“Neither Prime Minister Manmohan Singh nor Congress chief Sonia Gandhi paid any tributes to Bhagat Singh. They did not even bother to visit any of his memorials on March 23,” the senior BJP leader, V K Malhotra, told reporters here.

Criticising the Central and Delhi Governments for not organising any programmes in the memory of the martyr, Malhotra alleged, “the Congress leaders forget the services of Bhagat Singh. But for votes, they don’t forget to appeal for clemency for Parliament attack case convict Mohd Afzal”.

Malhotra also alleged that Congress was “ignoring the services done of Bhagat SIngh, Chandrasekhar Azad, Vir Savarkar and many others only to glamourise Nehru-Gandhi family. They are constructing memorial only for them”.
