THIRUVANAMTHAPURAM: It was a parade with a difference. The footsteps of the 5,000 Swayamsevaks who took part in the Ghoshsanchalanam reverberated across the capital city on Thursday. Other than the footsteps, it was the elegant sound of drumbeats and bugles, that too with military like precision, which stood out in the Ghoshsanchalanam, which sent spectators to the elevated feeling of patriotism and discipline. There were no ear piercing slogans or parody songs, the characteristics of any other rallies or processions in the state.

The Ghoshsanchalanam started from six different places at the stroke of 3pm. There were no announcement vehicles. Sawyamsevaks who rode in scooters and bikes ensured the smooth flow of traffic all over the city. But surprisingly, most of the drivers preferred to park their vehicles on the pavements and watch the Ghoshsanchalanam, a new and refreshing experience for the residents of the capital city.

The Ghoshsanchalams started from Peroorkkada, MG College, Medical College High School Grounds, Kumarapuram, Pettah and Killippalam. When reports last came, all the Ghoshsanchalanams were proceeding smoothly towards the University College Grounds were RSS Sarkariyavaha Shri. Mohan Bhagawat will address a mammoth rally later in the day.
