Balagokulam- A revolutionary movement from Kerala

If there is one Sangh inspired organisation which has crossed all barriers of caste, religion, politics etc. and has acquired total acceptance from the public and media of Kerala, it is undoubtedly Balagokulam, the organisation for children. Although the Balagokulam conducts Gita classes, story sessions on epics, puranas etc. the crowning glory of its presence is the thousands of Shobha yatras and Maha Shobha yatras it takes out on Krishna Jayanthi day in which about 15 lakh children dressed in attires of Krishna, Balaram, Kuchela, Gopas, Gopikas etc. carry out massive processions in every nook and corner of Kerala. Virtually, Kerala gets converted into Gokul, Dwaraka, Mathura etc. and we get transformed into a glorious era. Elephants in full regalia, women dressed in Kerala attire carrying multicoloured umbrellas, traditional music instruments like Panchavadyam, floats depicting scenes from the life of the Lord are the other high lights of the procession

menon 20/11/2009 10:25:22	Absolutely I have attended Balagokulam from my childhood and still my kids attend them in US. There are a large number of Balagokulams working in US. (There are 3 dedicated full timers who take turns) The organization make a huge difference for Indians.
Sarge 19/11/2009 07:22:28	This should be made more popular.. I feel Balagokulam is one of the good movements which can help Hindu kids get some positive knowledge about their own religion. And well before communists, traitors and anti-nationals manage to brain wash them. Let this campaign be more active. All the best !
Omkar 19/11/2009 06:04:37	Balagokulam Balagokulam is doing an excellent job for protecting our culture, traditons and heritage.It inculcate good values and morals in children.Balagokulam activities are conducive for bringing up childrens as responsible citizens so that they can play an important role in nation building.Balagokulam inculcate self respect,Patriotism and the importance of national integrity in our childrens. I wish the ouganisation all success.
