JANMABHUMI – THE MALAYALAM DAILY WITH DIFFERENCE02/02/2009 13:08:32
There are about 17 Malayalam Dailies coming out from Kerala every day morning. Of these, about 7 are managed by Muslims, 5 by Christians and 4 belong to different political parties . So, the only newspaper that cares for the Hindus and issues related to them is Janmabhumi. Ironically, its identity of being a Hindu paper does not take it to majority of Hindus in the state.
The team headed by Shri.Kummanam Rajasekharan is now caring this daily and there have been appreciable changes in its appearance and contents in recent times. The readership has been gradually increasing but no where near a target good enough to elevate it from loss to gain. To tide over this situation and to ensure its entry to maximum Hindu homes, an annual subscription programme has been launched which closes on 15 February 2009. As per this programme, the subscriber need to pay only Rs.1000/- for one year against the usual rate of Rs.1260/- per year. Not only that, other major dailies have recently increased its cost from Rs.3.50 to Rs.4.00 per copy, but Janmabhumi still maintains the rate of Rs.3.50 per copy.
A few NRIs on knowing about this scheme have expressed the desire to join this scheme and requested to deliver the daily at theirs home in Kerala. Janmabhumi thank those who have made such requests and has appealed to others also to co-operate that way and help the development of Janmabhumi. Those interested may call up the Development Manager on Mobile 0091-9995892374 or e-mail to email@example.com
Of course, due to constraints like census and transporting problems, the daily cannot be made available in foreign countries where thousands desire to read it; but for their benefit the online version of Janmabhumi will be launched very soon.
