Police-DYFI Gundaism in capital : Number of Hindu activists injured

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM : At least ten Hindu activists including BJP district president C Sivankutty have been seriously injured in an attack by Kerala Police and DYFI criminals in the state capital today.

Accordingly to eye witness DYFI criminals took out a march towards the secretariat where the Yuva Morcha activists were staging a dharna demanding the withdrawal of class seven textbooks and cancellation of appointments to the post of university assistants.

The clash occurred when the DYFI thugs with the support of state Police pelted stones at the Yuva Morcha activists. Police restored to lathicharge and used tear gas shells to against Hindu activists who were peacefully staging the dharna.

Protest marches are continuing in state capital and BJP senior leaders rushed the spot. Meanwhile, city Police commissioner assured the BJP leaders action would be taken within 24 hours.

BJP state unit called for a district hartal here tomorrow against the brutality on Hindu activists.


Hary Nambiar 26/06/2008 17:05:36	Inadequate laws Mr. Minister for Home Affairs and Police Department, don't you have a law, which prohibits the gathering of two opposing parties from gathering at the same location? If there is none, you have to promulgate an ordinance immediately to prohibit opposing parties meting within five miles of each other. Each party must seek prior approval of the authorities before they are allowed to meet. Besides, the police officers on duty must look out for trouble makers at the perimeter of the gathering rather than day dreaming or listening to the speeches. If there are adequate law which are enforced, this kind of situation would be rare.

All policemen are not to be blamed for the act of such worthless creatures. The police administration must identify that man and must conduct an internal investigation and record the number of occasions he has used such unnecessary brutality. Such people have no place in a competent police force. The immediate thing to do is to suspend him.

Yuvamorcha is growing day by day in Kerala. It is a threat to DYFI. Amritha TV gave a long coverage of the entire incident at top 10 news.

Hary Nambiar 26/06/2008 07:33:16	Knowledgeable police officers! I see that the police force is well trained in hurting unarmed people. They seem to know where to hit to do maximum damage with least effort. Apparently, the intention is to permanently incapacitate the man. If the intention is to dissolve the gathering, the specific point to which the impact is directed would have been elsewhere. The dharna was being held on that location long before the DYFI came. Why did the police not try to disburse them before? Dont the police find anything wrong with the DYFI which was interupting a peaceful dharna? Very disquieting. This type of police behavior is not what is contemplated in a democracy.
