Christianity taking over Yogda Satsang

Self Realisation Fellowship,’ (SRF) Church has managed to take over the Yogda Satsang and influenced many changes in the autobiography of Swami Yogananda, founder of the organisation. Many pages of the book ‘Autobiography of a Yogi’, which is the centrepiece of his spiritual legacy, has been changed so that people do not come to know about Hindu mythology,” said Motilal Gupta, an active member of Yogda Satsang at a press meet on Saturday.

“These things have been done in a silent and deliberate manner. The pictures of Hindu God and Goddess and pantheon have been replaced. Instead the picture of Jesus Christ and Christianity is promoted in the organisation,” he said. Under the influence of Self Realisation Fellowship the daily prayer Brahmanandam (Prayer of Spritual Guru) has been stopped. Even decades’ old established tradition of hawan has been stopped, he said. He also produced evidences to show that the original picture of Swami Yogananda has been tempered in the revised edition of his book. “In the original picture the Yogi is sitting in Yogic posture with sacred threads which has been changed. Now the followers are asked to take oath on the name of Jesus Christ,” he said.

Raising questions on the utilisation of funds of the organisation, Gupta said, “In the year 2002, Swami Sadanand and Swami Shivanand sent me a letter regarding the need of washrooms for girls in Purulia. I sent two drafts of Rs one lakh for this purpose but that money was never sent to Purulia. Likewise in 2006 when I asked about the accounts of money used for construction of Noida Ashram, but I never got it.”

“Yogda had invested five crore rupees in shares and mutual funds which is apparent in the balance sheet of 2010. The ashram is being controlled by SRF. Most of the board members are American and they are controlling the ashram from there itself. The secretary of the Ashram never visited India since past 45 years,” added Gupta.

Rebuffing the allegations of Gupta, Swami Nishthanand of Yogda Ashram said, “The methodology of the Ashram is transparent. These allegations are a part of conspiracy. The Ashram is running in Jharkhand since past 95 years. Those who want to know anything can visit the Ashram and collect any kind of information anytime.”

Nick Lambert 06/03/2013 08:36:34	Yogoda Ashram I second Dev Raj ji. Mr Gupta has been disappointed after donating huge sums of money that he could not "buy" YSS. Also, I have been to many ashrams and kendras where daily Brahmanandam is chanted. There is no attempt to "Christianize" YSS. Our beloved Gurudev Sri Sri Paramahansa Yoganandaji's mission was to show the universality of the original Yoga of both Sri Krishna and Jesus Christ. You can hear on EVERY AUDIO RECORDING of GURUJI'S OWN VOICE Him saying to follow Jesus Christ along with our Guruparampar. How can you argue with dozens of audio recordings of your own Guruji? Also, only some editions have had pictures of Shivji and Devi removed. Most have the pictures still there. Besides, that is a weak argument considering every other publication of YSS/SRF has many mentions of Shivji, Devi, Sri Krishna, etc. Read Autobiography of a Yogi and tell me how many times it is mentioned Tarakeswarji, Bhavatarini Kali, Sri Krishna, our own Guruparampar, Sri Ram, and scores of Hindu saints. There are FAR fewer mentions of Jesus Christ.

While admitting strangers and big sponsors Hindus are not vigilant nor do they verify their credentials. From other reports on the net it appears that the publications division has been taken over by Christians and even the book Autobiography of a Yogi has been tampered with and the Jew God man inserted in crucial places. Hindus should restore the book to its original content and erase all christian interpolations

K.M.Gopinath 25/05/2012 03:05:45	Christianity taking over yogda satsang Jharkhand is a hotbed of conversion activity. Many tribals have been lured by Kerala missionaries. There is a huge presence of a well knit christian community in Ranchi itself. The main activity of the females is conversion. Yogda Satsang is next to Ranchi railway station. Very recently christians have targeted and purchased the land opposite to the Yogda Ashram. They have built a huge residential and commercial complex fully occupied by christian converts. Since the Yogda is open to all these converts must be targeting this institution very surreptitiously. The VHP may be asked to conduct a secret survey to verify the credentials of Sri.Motilal Gupta. Since christian converts mislead one and all by retaining their original Hindu names, there should be a secret probe.

Immediately the organisation is infiltrated by outside elements who thereafter sabotage the institution and by clever deception take over the organisation. This is what happenned to Kalakshetra, one Leela Sampson masterminded the sabotage of that organisation. The only way out is do not seek foreign money. All those Gurus and Matas who move around with white skinned so called devotees should beware, for many may be infiltrators

Dev Raj 23/05/2012 07:26:26	Sri Motilal Gupta: Misleading the people. The said Sri Motilal Gupta is a thug of a highest order. I know it by personal experience and I am surprised that a website of such an esteemed stature can publish information based upon comments of a scrupulous man without even trying to investigate. I strongly and humbly urge the editors to please find out the facts and then state whatever they want to. Like Sri Gupta, I have been very intimately associated with Yogoda Satsanga Society of India and can very positively affirm that whatsoever has been published here on account of the statement made by Mr. Gupta, is utter falsehood. For instance, the prayer BRAHMANANDAM has never been stopped at the Yogoda Satsanga Ashrams or any of the Kendras and meditation centers. People can go to any of the ashrams and see it for themselves. Furthermore, all the members of the Board of Directors ARE INDIANS, and the board IS IN NO WAY being controlled by its sister organization in America. Sri Gupta has been voicing these fabricated allegations since many years now and I am further surprised that he is still holding on to them despite of the proof given by the society many a times that these claims are not true. What Sri Gupta wants is a SUPREMACY in the board of directors just because he thinks that he has been donating in the most generous way. He knows that this basis can never be a legal and valid claim to hold stakes in any spiritual and charitable organization, and so he has resorted to such shameful means. What he doesn't understand is that by trying to falsely demean an honest, trustworthy, and a true spiritual organization which has striven to uphold the spiritual legacy of a Great Avatar Sri Sri Paramahansa Yogananda, in the highest way, he is blemishing himself and bringing upon him a great negative karma. All of us devotees at Yogoda Satsanga deeply pray that our brother Sri Motilal Gupta comes back to what he was, a generous, kind, and an ardent devotee who steadfastly wanted to commune with the Divine. Regu 23/05/2012 03:58:21	Unfortunate happenings If the news is true, this is such an unfortunate event to happen to such a beautiful organization and such a fabulous spiritual book . This could happen for any Indian spiritual organization in future.
