THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Former Union Minister O. Rajagopal will be contesting in the Neyyattinkara by-election as a BJP candidate. The BJP has not yet officially declared the candidature of Rajagopal. The decision to field Rajagopal was unanimously taken at the party’s State Committee meeting, delegates’ meeting, and election committee on Thursday.

CPI (M) fielded F Lawrence a local leader while UDF will support Selvaraj who ditched CPM and resigned his position as Neyattinkara MLA. In the last election Selvaraj defeated congress candidate Thampanorr Ravi with a mere margin of 6702 votes. Last time BJP Candidate Athiyannur Srikumar bagged 6.03% of total votes.

These are already abandant in our kerala more than any other place and we continue and maintain these programmes even when we go out of India. It is a good sign off course. But what we want to emphasise is the the awareness and pride of the hindu in every day life . Are we getting our share of entitlements, respect and commitments from the government ? The majority pay the taxes and the minority enjoys with it !!!! What a shame ? It is because of their tolerance that other religious leaders would come to india. I am a christian . But if anybody asks me as to which is the most tolerant religion, I would certainly say that it is hinduism. This is so especially in kerala. But I was sad to read the comments on the site. Let us not start to become communal and destroy our culture. The problems that the present government are facing are tremendous. The congress is forced to satisfy everyone to exist. It is a coalition government. The people of kerala are perhaps not used to coalition politics as in other states. Hence we get upset when our demands are not met. Even certain christian sects are seen to get upset when their demands get sidelined. Even some of the congressmen get disgruntled at times when they find that some of the benefits go to the coalition partners. But it is not a mature attitude on the part of anyone to feel disgruntled. Such adjustments are necessary in coalition politics. In fact the electorate in kerala has created all this trouble. We the people of kerala have voted in favour of a coalition government, rather than giving more seats to the congress. What we the people of kerala should do in the next assembly elections to avoid this, is to give a clear mandate to a secular party. For instance if the congress had more seats by itself to form a government, the Ooommen chandy government would have had more freedom to satisfy the needs of all the communities. Now that it is a coalition government, his hands are tied and things are very difficult to handle. But despite all odds, one thing that can be said is that the chief minister is trying to do his best for everybody. Hut there are so many limitations.

With the exception of VS Achuthanandan (as a person), I don't see anyone in these two fronts to guide Kerala. The most idiotic UDF leaders ruling today have made Keralam a place where only selected class of people can survive. Time has come where NSS and SNDP should openly come out against these two fronts and support BJP. This is the right time - create history; vote en masse for the most respected candidate in the field today - O. Rajagopal. Let Lotus Bloom in Kerala Legislative Assembly. Do not Vote - 20% Pro UDF - 30% Pro LDF - 30% Undecided - 20% It can be seen that the undecided 20% makes a decision based on several factors and their decision is unpredictable until the time of voting. If BJP is keen on winning in Neyyatinkara, a new 30% group has to be created. This can consist of 10% each from UDF,LDF and the undecided category. It is relatively easy to attract the undecided class, because most of them are well-educated and they are well aware of the dirty politics behind this election. It is comparatively easy to get support from traditional UDF supporters when compared with that of the traditional LDF supporters. BJP needs formulate a 3 faced strategy to attract votes from these 3 different category of people.

Generally, as seen in any parliamentary system, voters here can also be under committed and non-committed categories. Mostly, the former are either committed to the UDF or to the LDF. Other committed voters are negligible in number. The un-committed voters are supposed to judge each candidate at the time of elections and caste their votes judiciously, to the good of the people. In fact, these votes count primarily to the success or failure of any candidate. Unfortunately, the Kerala un-committed voters are so orthodox that they often behave like a semi-committed group. In spite of repeated experiences of corruption, favouritism and in-efficiency on the part of both UDF and LDF, this group invariably chooses one of the two 'main' political combinations. These voters, as a group, are not courageous enough to accept even the smallest 'revolution' of changing for some less important political parties like the BJP etc. or independent candidates. These voters also forget that they only bestow any status on any political party. It is an opportunity for the Neyyattinkara voters to show greater conviction and courage in the bye-election due there shortly by electing someone from outside the set winners.
JPS Nair 25/04/2012 20:10:57	File a PIL on Selvaraj and Congress - Make them pay the election expenses We all know that elections to the assembly is held once in 5 years and election before the term of 5 years is only coming as a requirement if the sitting MLA passes away or the assemby gets dissolved. But in the case of Neyyatinkara, Mr.Selvaraj and Congress party are the major factors behind the current election announced in Neyyatinkara. If there was no anti-defection law, Selvaraj would have defected to Congress. This election has been triggered by Congress and Selvaraj for their personal benefits and the government money need not be spent on this election. The entire election expenses should be recovered from Selvaraj and Cogress Party since it is wrong to put the financial burden of this election on the taxpayers. The following points should be presented before the court. 1. What are the reasons for the resignation of Selvaraj. If he says that he was suffocating in CPM, CPM should also be asked to compensate for the election expenses, since their ill-treatment to Selvaraj has made him resign so that the requirement for this election has arisen. 2. Why Selvaraj visited the CM and KPCC president multiple times before he resigned. What are the promises given to Selvaraj by the Congress party. 3. If Selvaraj gets suffocated in the role of an MLA, what is the guarantee that he will not get suffocated in the role of a congress MLA if he wins. 4. Can the congress party make a public announcement that Selvaraj will not be made a minister, if he wins the election. UDF had made an announcement that Anoop Jacob will be made a minister if he wins in Piravom. 5. The present expenditure for election was imposed on the general public because of the loophole in the anti-defection law. The court is requested to give an instruction to amend the anti-defection law appropriately to prevent a setting MP/MLA to resign and contest again before the present term is completed.

In addition to giving publicity to BJP as a party and Rajettan as an individual, BJP needs to strike hard at the opposition weakness. I would like to suggest the following options. 1. Probe into the financial deals between Selvaraj and UDF and expose all details. 2. K.Muraleedharan waited for 1 year to get an MLA seat. Selvaraj could get it in 1 month. Expose the foolish political strategies of Congress. 3. Expose the calicut university land scam. Arrange streat dramas in which Mullakkas playing badminton for the purpose of grabbing university land. 4. Arrange speeches by BJP leaders in Nagercoil and adjacent BJP dominated places in TN. 5. Expose the weakness of CPM and ask about the possibility of shifting of stages after 6 months. Selvaraj becoming CPM candidate and Charles becoming UDF candidate. 6. Ask who is responsible for the public money wasted for this election. 7. File a PIL on UDF and CPM for creating a scenario in which public money is getting wasted. 8. Ask the question, if Kerala is ruled by minorities for a long time, what is the fate of temples and the property of temples controlled by the government. 9. Publish a list of Malabar temple properties illegally held by Christians and Muslims. 10. Expose the land grabbing techniques of Kerala congress in Idukki and Munnar. 11. Say publicly that the LDF and UDF do not have any policy on Mullaperiyar. Both the parties take different stands in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Say that both Congress and CPM and regional parties in the case of Mullaperiyar.

Now this the time to show all the politicians and the so called minority vote bank Muslims & Christians culprits that Hindus can also unite for a common cause. NSS, SNDP and all other Hindu organisations must forget any difference or issues and act unanimously to win BJP. Then only the politicians will re-think when they take any decision in the future. Otherwise the Muslims & Christians will control us and all the Hindus will become their slaves in one day. Hindus will run behind Congress, CPM and other useless parties. Secularism is only meant for Hindus whereas Muslims & Christians will bother only the candidate’s religion. Therefore at least for this time forget all the misunderstandings among all the Hindu leaders and get confidence and support from all the Hindu members irrespective of their caste or political vision and cast your Hindu vote to BJP. KKR 21/04/2012 22:59:10	An action item I feel local units of caste organizations like NSS, SNDP etc and our innumerable temple committees, Hindu NGOs etc should come forward and pass resolutions in support of Rajettan and call upon other Hindus to do so. If the central leadership of these caste organizations are not ready to openly declare their support, local units should boldly break the fake discipline and declare their support. It doesn't matter whether they are located in Neyyattikara constituency. If the trend catches up, it will make the central leadership also to think. It will send out strong messages across to the whole Hindu society. All the influential Hindu readers of this site should try to convey this message to organizations we can influence.

Its not a queation whether Rajetten will win or loss, but its fight with two christian candidates (UDF & LDF) in a Hindu majority constituency. The future of Hindus will decide after this result. They will choose whether they want to stay in Kerala peacefull or to stay in tents like Kashmiri Pandits.
