Post Poll Analysis - Best ever performance by BJP in Kerala
13/05/2011 05:16:21  HK

Following are the votes gained by BJP candidates in their stronghold – Although BJP could not win , the high vote share captured by the party in highly polarised Kerala soceity is indeed a good indicator for the optimistic Hindu soceity. Consolidation of minority votes against BJP is one of the prime reason for it's failure , where arch rivals LDF – UDF candidates cross voted to ensure the defeat of BJP .

Nemom

Sivankutty – CPM – 50076
O Rajagopal – BJP – 43661
Charupara Ravi – UDF – 20248

Verdict - UDF Votes to LDF

Kasargod

N A Nellikkunnu- UDF – 53068
Jayalakshmi Bhatt – BJP – 43330
Azeez Kadappuram – LDF – 16467

Verdict - LDF Vote to UDF

Manjeswaram

Abdul Razak – UDF – 49817
K Surendran – BJP – 43989
CH Kunhambu –  LDF – 35067

Verdict - LDF Vote to UDF

In general the trends in these constituencies shows that – Inspite of constant vilification campaign against BJP – There are voters who came around in enmasse to vote for the saffron party. The dedicated work by BJP activists with the support of Sangh pariwar organisations is for sure making a good impact , which has already send shivers in the spine of Anti Hindus. Slowly but surely BJP is making inroads into the psyche of Kerala soceity and the high vote share gained by the party in these places is an indication of the same.

Bjp got more than 19.47of polled Hindu votes
There was an arithmatic error in the previous comment and hence this one.
75.12% of the kerala voters caste their votes. The remaining 25 percent didn’t.Who are they?Hindus no doubt(All the Christians and Muslims have undoubtedly voted).Again in the 75.12 percent 44 percent are minorities. It means that the remaining 31.12 percentage is Hindu vote.BJP got 6.06 . Means that BJP got 19.47 percent of the polled hindu votes(6.06/31.12*100=19.47) .Yes , 19.47 percent of the kerala Hindus supported BJP. 5

Alphons Kannanthanam for BJP!!
Now that Alphons Kannanthanam is part of BJP's main think tank, did BJP heed his last minute advise for better chance in Kerala elections? Does anyone here have any details as to what Kerala specific plans, compared to their rivals, did BJP have during this elections? 5

nair party
please dont be angry or eimotion on my heading.about trivandrum, especially trivandrum loksabha seat it is true.i invite all Bjp&parivar leaders attention to this apriyasatyam.
1 from starting1982 till now how many non nair district presidents for trivandrum?
2 how many non nair candidates contest from this loksabha seats?
3 how many candidates came for election from other castes for assembly elections under this seat?
4.is it true that nearly 80%district committe members from only one caste?
5.how many popular Bjp leaders from nadar community in this district?
6.all this means nair community abv 80% in hindu population trivandrum?
i think we all stand for hindu unity&consolidation of hindu votes. But after the tragedy-rajettans defeat,i think we can avoid defeat if we have hold in 25%nadar votes.so my humble request to all parivar leaders- woo workers&develop leaders from all sections to rejuvenate Bjp 5

Polarisation
If you closely observe the election results, you will find that a communal polarization has already. The hindu knew that Muslims and and different churches are going to control the government. They understood it when they saw that both christian congress have merged and all the so called minority MLAs with LDF deserted them for their community. The hindus had two options. Either vote for BJP in which case they were not sure of the victory or vote for LDF which is clean from the minority communal elements and corruption and victory. They choose the second option. But there are some hidden christians in nair service society and they tried to defeat the comparatively secular front.
The results clearly say this. LDF has won in areas which are not controlled by mullahs and bishops. And the UDF has won from areas of mullahs and bishops. This is a clear indication to congress that the majority community is loosing confidence in them. Election results in Karnataka and other places where hindu is in majority clearly says this. In the long run this will be beneficial to BJP 5

start work from ground level
dont abuse others for our defeat.after facing many elections why we dont taking counter tactics for cross voting.all elections our leaders telling same reason for defeat.just imagine-if Ldf holding their 10k votes if it crossed to Udf.who will win in manjeswar?leave all. how many panchayat Bjp ruling now in manjeswar&kasargode?how many block punjayat we have? how many zilla division?without holding even two division how dare we saying we will win.we have no leader who working with in&around a constituency.just example.C.K.Padmanabhan contest manjeswar in 2001in 2005 was trivandrum&2009 in palakkad. Now he is in kunnamangalam.see sobhasurendran.vadakkancheri, ponnani, ernakulam now pudukkad.all our leaders moving one to another breaking their roots.krishnadas got22k votes in kattakada.good.but who can predict where willbe he next election time.so the leadership should ask the candidates to stay where they now&go into the matter of common people&take agitation for them.we should go for a long time project.our minimum target shouldbe 2/3 panachayat&1/2divisions in all constituencies where we got above 20kvotes.it is not a big matter to win 3/4 seats if we achieve these goals in next panchayat election.Bharat mata ki jai 5

BJP was leading when the main city segment votes were being counted once the muslim dominated are votes were started the margin decreased and LDF started gaining. Suggestion
I have a suggestion to the Kerala state BJP to win election & get others support at least in future. The suggestion is not to contest in all the constituencies. Put candidates in 20 to 30% seats where the BJP has maximum votes as per previous elections. In the other seats support the small local parties,(that is other than CPM & Congress) openly even though those local parties do not ask for support. This will give more concentration on campaining in the seats where BJP is contestiong. The seats of local parties may increase by BJP support . The voters of these local parties if available in the seats where BJP is contesting, they may give vote to us instead to CPM or Congress. These local parties enemity with BJP will dilute & in future they may think of making alliance with BJP. 5

Not to lose heart, but more work required..
The positive side is that BJP vote share is increasing. And many people say that RSS also has a good presence in the state. But more hard work is required if BJP needs to win in Kerala.

One thing we must understand is that BJP is a new comer. A new comer would always face stiff opposition from the other parties who have firmly established in the state. They have settled down, knows the machinery better and can come up with enough number of schemes to target a new comer.

As some one earlier pointed out BJP candidates should stay put in their constituency and continue their home level campaigns. Their should be a sustained campaign, and the draw backs of the current winners should be highlighted. The people should find in BJP candidates a "Go To" person who is their to help them (when the MLA decides to ignore them after winning). 5

BJP did not win because of this
http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/assembly-elections-2011/kerala/Assembly-polls-Kerala-results-show-religious-polarization/articleshow/8312298.cms

he remarkable rally staged by the Left in Kerala which brought it to the brink of an unexpected victory appears to have been facilitated by a Hindu consolidation behind outgoing chief minister V S Achuthanandan.

The voting pattern displayed a communal polarization across the state, with Christians and Muslims consolidating behind Congress-led UDF, and the Hindu areas going with the CPM-led LDF in almost a repeat of the 1987 state polls.

The Congress and allies won maximum seats in Muslim-dominated Mallapuram and Christian belts Ernakulam and Kottayam. The CPM and allies won in Kannur, Kozhikode, Kollam, Palakkad, Alappuzha and Thiruvananthapuram, which all have significant Hindu concentration. Ezhavas, the community to which Achuthanandan belongs, were at the vanguard of Hindu consolidation for their man. Their pro-Achuthanandan fervour was evident in the Left's strong showing in Alappuzha where Congress had hoped to do well.

There were a few exceptions, but broadly, the Hindus gravitated towards the Left in reaction to the UDF's aggressive wooing of Christians and Muslims. In fact, Congress had sniffed the risk and decided to field state party chief Ramesh Chennithala to blunt the reaction among Hindus to the projection of Oomen Chandy as UDF's chief ministerial choice. 5

BJP
It's my sincere wish that there's a grassroot level movement for Hindu unity like how SNDP and NSS movements were once.

Let's think back to the days when Mannath Padmanabhan boldy fought for the rights of Dalits and Backward castes of kerala.

What went wrong after that?

We shouldn't leave any matter unsolved in quest for perfection.
Ignoring caste factors in Hinduism is like ignoring an elephant in the room.

When Sri Narayana Guru and Mannath were alive, people must have thought Hindus were moving towards a strong unity. But we all know the situation now.

The caste sentiments still lurk beneath the outer 'enlightened' facade of us Malayalees. It's time to put a stop to this. It's time to take our religion forward.

Or as Aurobindo once said " India has been provided an opportunity to bring God to earth again, if we fail to take initiative that opportunity will be taken elsewhere".

So deal with it, malayalees, there's no enlightenment, no hindu unity, no 'BJP win' unless and until 'caste' is eradicated.

Let's do that and be a model for the rest of India again.

Dear BJP candidates.Don't be dissappointed. Please don’t leave your constituencies. Transform our supporters to be our workers.Give a simple target to each one of them.Make groups and ask them to visit houses once in a week . Ask them to make others aware of the need of Hindu unity. We pray for your success. Bharathaamba will surely help. The pseudo secularists or communists will have no place in god's own land for a long periold. 5

BJP IN KERALA AND TN STATE
Bjp needs to learn lessons from state to state. In T N and in andhra BJP needs an actor or actress to lead them.Rajinikanth will fit in to this but Bjp leaders never cared to visit him like other parties.Similarly Bjp could have easily made Vijyakanth to be in BJP and he could have led the party in TN with victory.
But Bjp do not have any vision.
they use the same RSS people style which will not help. Hwr in the 2011 elections results,BJP scored in 6 constituencies all above 35,000 votes and spoiled the chances for AIADMK ( 4) and DMK ( 2) besides in Ramanathapuram
salem and coimbator besides hosur ect they scored above 10,000 and in chennai, everyone would vote normally for BJP but this time they wanted to oust corrupt DMK and voted unwillingly for AIADMK.
BJP needs to work out different strategices for each and every state seperately to the local situation. see BJP rules in GUJARATH,MP,UTTRANCHAL,HP,CHATTISHGAR,UTTRAKHAND,KARNATAKA AND IN ALLIENCE WITH OTHERS IN PUNJAB, BIHAR. CONGRESS IS ONLY IN ANDHRA
MAHARASHTRA,HARYANA,DELHI,ASSAM, NOW KERALA, RAJASTHAN ( THIS IS THE ONLY STATE THAT BJP LOST TO CONGRESS LAST ELECTION).
THEY MUST WORK VERY HARD TO PENETRATE. BJP MUST WORK FROM GROSSROOT LEVEL IN KERALA AMONG HINDUS AND EDUCATE THEM TO FIGHT AGAINST MINORITIES DOMINATION. 5

kerala hindus
from my own experience here in mumbai,i can tell that malayali hindus are more religious than any other hindu community. i remember when i was in school ,a christian teacher started speaking about the sabrimala temple and how women are not allowed in there,a malayali girl classmate openly protested and told the teacher that such traditions should not be broken.there is a small malayali community in my colony and every year they celebrate the ayyappa festival. i have never seen such organization and discipline in a festival even during ganesh chaturthi in mumbai.i think bjp can make it in kerala if it raises the local keralaite hindu issues well.if it talks about jehadi terror or conversion it makes the kerala hindus apprehensive about bjp as they already have been brainwashed into believing that bjp is against communal harmony.however if bjp raises issues like sabrimala, guruvayoor, chances are that thay will get public support.it is sad that the bjp tends to act reformist when such issues come up.bjp supported temple entry for women in sabrimala as well as entry for non hindus in guruvayoor.so how did it show itself different from congress and left???it was the right opportunity but bjp lost it. 5

Need a bit more analysis!!
I'm unable to understand why UDF members will vote for LDF and vice versa. Isn't UDF partnering CONgress to defeat LDF, which it considers it's most important enemy, while knowing very well that BJP hardly has any chance in Kerala or for that matter, except of Karnataka anywhere in South India. As such CONgress and UDF alliance with 72 seats seem to have won the elections this time around, with the Left party, both in Kerala and in West Bengal loosing. I'm sure BJP would have won quite a few seats if they had, had a party member/leader with a national presence as well as having a good track record in Kerala. A bit like Mamta Banerjee. She was a Union Minister of Railways and now the CM of WB. But she has been an active in politics for the last 13 years. BJP need to seriously introspect on where they are going wrong instead of getting desperate, that may result in short term gains but long term dent on BRAND BJP. As of now the full weight of BJP is on Sri. Narendra Modi and BJP need to have someone like him with a Southern India connection. Like having different captains for different formats of cricket. 5

In Kerala 20% are christians, 25% muslims and 30% communists. This 75% will not allow any real Hindu to be elected to Kerala assebly. This is the case with all the 140 assembly seats. The cross voting theory by UDF and LDF are all wrong.

Congress workers in Nemom say that they have been told to vote en masse to LDF Candidate to ensure defeat of Shri.Rajagopal.They fear if BJP wins even one seat,it will start gaining more and more seats in the coming elections destabilising congress once for all.

BJP should have won atleast one seat.
BJP needs to do more hard work in Kerala. Also, Muslim votes are consolidated and their Jihadi owners have made all efforts to see that their votes will goto either UDF or LDF. Neverthless, BJP should not loose hope. BJP will always be supported by Hindus. It is good to see that BJP came 2nd in 3 assembly seats. However, they need to work hard. The same situation in Hyderabad. Muslim majority areas are difficult to win by BJP . Even the great actor NTR couldn't win Hyderabad constituency .

I also agree with the fact that HINDU IDIOTS are still not aware of the religious games played by Muslim and Christian parties. 5

BJP in Kerala
Your report on BJP's share of votes in Kerala reiterates what I have been telling everyone. If BJP cadres are enthused by right leadership in all the states where they have never won a seat, they can make excellent inroads in these states.Kerala's example amplify lost opportunities for BJP.But then, where is proper leadership in BJP? It has equal number of mullets holding important positions who will cut side deals if it favours their pockets. It is a shame that voters like me are stuck between established crooks and crooks in the making .There is no vimochanam for this country. 5

Minority conspiracy
I guess nothing but minority conspiracy had made BJP candidates to lose atleast in the above said 3 constituencies. Consolidation of minority votes plus lack of unity among hindus is the main hindrances in the path of BJP. This can be over come to some extent by strong ward or booth level working. I strongly belive that atleast 60% of voters can be influenced by personal vote request.

I also strongly believe that the corrupt leadership of NSS is one of the mani cause of lack of hindu unity

Good luck of next time 5

Considering the amount of efforts that BJP has put up, this is good result.

The votes have got distributed due to the in security from the peoples point of view of wasting votes.

What BJP should do is
To engage more into the daily lives of the public.
In order to help people, one need not get into politics ...
People love to hear when someone says Bharat Mata ki Ji etc ...

I beg to disagree
First agree that voters have increased.

But ...
Look at the bigger picture
Not even one seat considering
1. Goondas like sivankutty
2. Considering population increase
3. Considering all the scams , murders etc
4. Re iterating the fact of the threats that hindus are facing ...

Three things must have happened
1. Either the muslim / christian population must have increased and surpassed hindu population
2. Hindu IDIOTS are still not aware of the religious games that other parties are playing - REMEMBER IUML / MLKSC is the second largest party now
3. THE WHOLE ELECTION PROCESS is RIGGED . machines are manipulated in a celver way ... The details are present in many websites showing how to manipulate the EVMs - its just childs play for a good engineer.

Correct Analysis.. CPM lost power due to transfer of votes to Muslim league...!
This is a correct analysis. In Nemom UDF has is down by 8000 votes compared to 2006 assembly election and it is obvious now how CPM got lead of 6400 votes.

In Kasargode this is more clear LDF is down by 10000 votes compared to 2006 elections and UDF wining marging is 9000+.. The point is how long can they do this....! Time will come Cong & Communist won't have votes to cross vote. CPM lost power because it cross voted in Manjeshwaram &Kasargode... let them learn the lesson. CPM digging its own grave. Nearly up to 50 % non hindus (christans , muslims) who will not vote for bjp because they represent a different idealogy which is against this nationalist view of bjp .they will only in mass votes to the directions from their master just watch about this after the results the said persons who doctered the vote of miniority community will comeup arguing this .we vote to elect or defeat

Secularism means not spiritual or religious !!! for whom only for hindus !!

kerala congress (m)+(jacob) christan based party won 9+1 = 10

Hindus in Kerala need to consolidate
Dear Brthers and Sisters,
Many BJP ruled states in India today [ Gujarat, Karnataka, MP etc ] were Congress bastions till recently. BJP never used to win much seats. COnsistent working by the party enabled to be in power in these states. The party needs to work from tomorrow morning onwards for 60 months without break to open an account in Kerala. believe me, it is do-able. Secondly, act as the true opposition party, expose all misdeeds of the UDF and its cronies from day one and remain in the radar of the people. People will understand what we are doing. Please please work for Hindu's issues and Hindus will reciprocate. If Mamata can throw away 35 years rule in bengal, Hindus in Kerala can open their account in Kerala Assembly. Third and most important, have a channel through which Hindus can relentlessly expose the LDF and UDF and earn the comfort and trust of Hindus in kerala. Dont loose heart, have a plan and work from tomorrow. My dear brothern, success will be yours one day. 5

Do they actually want it?
Does this party actually want entry into the Kerala Assembly at all?

1. Every five years, different and new faces are fielded a few days before the Nomination filing. The candidate is always unknown among the voters, except perhaps to some RSS people of the Constituency,

2. If they fix up a likely candidate early enough and ask him to make himself popular in the Constituency by constant interaction with the people of the area for at least an year beforehand, would things not be different?

3. No other party in the State has anything like the Parivar cadres to work for it in all constituencies. Is this resource fruitfully utilised at all?

4. Hindus in Kerala vote in Front non-Hindus only because Kerala BJP is ashamed to be Hindu.

5. How can anyone explain a Party with the money, the volunteer human resources, and the ideology that the BJP has, losing at the Assembly in such silly fashion? This while coconut leaf stalks join every ministry here! 5
