Christian-Muslim nexus in ‘conversion’ games?

The Chennai edition of Dinamalar dated 28-7-2010; page 15, reports as follows:



A padhiri named Solomon (30) of the Pattukkottai Madhukkur “Daily Good News Church” along with one Joshua (30) described as the district secretary of the Viduthalai Chirutthhai Social Welfare Peravai, indulged in conversion prachar in Erode’s Nadar Medu-Bharthipuram area in Tamil Nadu. They were prevented by Easwaramurthy (30) RSS Kasipalayam Secretary, Paumpon Thevar Makkal Iyakkam Dt.Secretary Bose Murugan (30) and others. With the help of local people Padhiri Solomon was held captive, but Joshua ran away. The padhiri was held in the Photo Studio of one Selvam in Nadar Medu.

Viduthali Chirthhai cadres turned up and smashed the window glasses and computers in the studio. Soon RSS, BJP, Hindu Munnani and the public collected and the situation grew tense. Police forces were rushed to the area, and the disputants taken to the Police station for talks, and a Scorpio car of the Viduthalai Chiruthhaigal was seized by the police.

The Surampatti P.S was attacked by persons of both sides, and Armed Police were deployed.

A car bearing the VC Party flag came and stopped near the P.S. Hindu outfits alleged that there were arms inside the car and offered dharna. Police removed the protestors and the car.

ADSPs Manoharan and Selvakumar came to Surampatti PS, and took written complaints from both sides.

On the basis of the complaint filed by Easwaramurthy of the RSS the following persons were arrested on six charges of unlawful assembly, damage to public property, threatening to kill, etc.: Padiri Solomon, VC Students wing Dt.Secretary Alluddin, Dt.Mahila Wing Asst. Secretary Abdulunnissa (43), VC Dt.Asst Secretarys Arasangam (43) & Mdhivannan (47), and Joshua.

On the basis of complaint filed by Padiri Soloman the following persons were arrested on the charges of assault and attempted murder: Easwaramurthy and Bose Murugan.
